Education & Training

Graduated from Tsoying Senior High School, Dance Division (Kaohsiung, Taiwan).

Awarded a scholarship to study at the Conservatory of Dance, State University of New York at Purchase.

Upon graduation, received the Chief Justice Award of New York State and the Bert Terborgh Dance Award for outstanding achievement.

Trained and performed in works by renowned choreographers including Lin Hwai-min, George Balanchine, Paul Taylor, José Limón, Nicolo Fonte, Jacqulyn Buglisi, Ausu Noals, and Stanton Welch.

Minored in Stage Lighting Design, created lighting for numerous productions.

2003: Scholarship to the Burgos Dance Festival (Spain), where he performed and served as lighting designer for the entire production.

Lighting design praised by The New York Times for Thang Dao Dance Company performance.

Professional Experience

2003: Joined Kevin Wynn Collection, performed at the Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors Festival, New York.

2003–2008: Joined American Repertory Ballet (New Jersey, USA).

2008: Invited to join Atlanta Ballet (Georgia, USA).

Guest dancer and rehearsal director with multiple contemporary dance companies.

Faculty member at Princeton Ballet School.

Contributions in Taiwan

2009: Returned to Taiwan as Assistant Director for the Opening Ceremony of the 2009 Kaohsiung World Games:

Choreographed the Techno Prince Nezha (電音三太子) sequence.

Directed an 800-person jazz street dance in Vibrant Kaohsiung.

Performed in a featured duet during the ceremony.

Guest ballet instructor at Tsoying Senior High School Dance Division and Chia-Chi Girls’ Senior High School Dance Division.

2009: Presented new works Here and Beyond (此刻‧彼方) and Transformation (轉化).
