Why the Beijing Exhibition Center?
A landmark, not a commercial venue.
Built in 1954, the Beijing Exhibition Center is the city's earliest large-scale exhibition building and was listed among the first 20th-Century Architectural Heritage sites in 2016. Its spire and star are a fixture of the Xizhimen skyline, and its permanent art gallery has hosted international exhibitions from Russia and France. When your work hangs here, your CV carries a name that can be verified — not a space no one has heard of.
A full month, not a weekend.
The exhibition runs 1–31 December, through the city's year-end cultural season. A month on view gives press time to publish, collectors time to visit and curatorial texts time to be read — a depth of exposure no three-day pop-up can offer.
A city, not a circle.
Stars of Hong Kong places twenty-five Hong Kong artists inside this arena, speaking collectively, so that Hong Kong contemporary practice is seen — formally — by a professional audience in another city.

Hong Kong passport holders only. No age limit, any medium, all career stages — selection rests on the work. Applications from Macau are not accepted.
Specification
Up to 80 × 80 cm · canvas on stretcher, no outer frame, no glass or acrylic
Any medium, except plants, soil, biological materials, untreated wood without fumigation certification, animal fur or hide, and similar.
Non-living works only. No multi-part assembly.
Photography, painting, mixed media, video, drawing and sculpture are all welcome.
