The 3rd Asian Art Rising Star Award, organized by DE Global Art Agency (蝶映藝術) together with the French association ALEA, is now open for entries. It is an annual art award dedicated to discovering and promoting new artistic voices from across Asia.
About the Award
The Asian Art Rising Star Award is an annual art award that brings together emerging talents from Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe, connecting them through exhibitions, public voting, and cross-cultural exchange. We believe art belongs to everyone. Through partnerships with public spaces, convenience-store voting platforms, and international art organizations, we build a bridge between emerging artists and the wider world.
Our Mission
• Discover and support emerging Asian artists with exceptional creative potential. • Provide artists a meaningful platform to gain international exposure. • Foster cross-cultural dialogue and showcase the diversity of contemporary Asian art. • Make art more accessible to the public through innovative promotion and voting mechanisms.
Eligibility
Open to all creators aged 18 and above who are of Asian nationality or residing in Asia. No restriction on medium: painting, sculpture, photography, installation, mixed media, and more. Each entrant may submit a maximum of 1 original work.
Entry Fees
Registration fee: NT$1,200 per person / Final-round fee: NT$5,000 (only for those who pass the preliminary round)
Artwork Requirements
• Size: once framed or fully formed in three dimensions, the overall size must be under 80 × 80 × 80 cm (length, width, and height). • Weight: the total weight of the finished work must not exceed 5 kg. • Materials: plant-based, biological, and fluid/liquid materials are not permitted, including but not limited to: fresh flowers, plants, foodstuffs, untreated animal materials, liquids, and uncured flowing media. • Unit: each work counts as a single piece/single surface; one sheet counts as one work. • Assembly limit: works composed of multiple parts joined, combined, or presented as a set are not accepted as a single work. • Other: for special media or formats, or if unsure whether the requirements are met, please email us before registering.
Timeline
• Submission: now until 15 July 2026 • Preliminary results announced: 25 July 2026 • Final round: 5 August 2026 • Finalists announced: 15 August 2026 • In-person judging exhibition: 2 September – 3 November 2026 · Polaris Café, Taichung
Nationwide FamiPort Exhibition
Works by artists who pass the preliminary round will be uploaded to FamilyMart's FamiPort cloud-printing platform and exhibited simultaneously in stores across Taiwan. Fans and the public can print and collect the works at FamilyMart stores nationwide, bringing art out of the gallery and into everyday life.
The Jury
Lu Po-Han (盧柏翰) — Lecturer in the Department of Radio, Television and Film at Shih Hsin University; MFA in Cinematography from the New York Film Academy, Los Angeles. Four years of experience in the U.S. film industry, contributing to numerous union film productions and major commercial advertising. He evaluates works through the lens of visual storytelling and visual language.
Liu Chun-Yu (劉俊佑) — Lecturer in the Department of Design at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan Tech). Founder of the visual marketing studio final_final studio, helping brands raise over NT$100 million in crowdfunding. He has collaborated with the Ministry of Education, the General Association of Chinese Culture, the Taiwan Design Expo, HIM International Music, Sanhua, and MLB.
Winner Benefits
Winners will be officially represented by DE Global Art Agency, which will help advance their international art careers, and their works will be exhibited and sold at the 2027 Taiwan Art Fair before international collectors and professionals.

Past Editions
2 editions held · 21 awarded artists in total · 4+ participating countries · print-based voting in over 4,000 FamilyMart stores. The 1st edition (2024) ran a two-month exhibition at Ararat Art Partners in Taichung, introducing five emerging artists from Taiwan and Malaysia; the 2nd edition (2025) was held at the historic landmark Taichung City Hall with 16 artists from Asia and Europe, introducing nationwide FamiPort voting for the first time.
