2026 Kyla Artist Prize — Fourth Edition: Official List of Laureates

Official Announcement

ALEA, a non-profit association (loi 1901) registered in Paris, and DE Global Art Agency in Taipei, are honored to officially announce the laureates of the fourth edition of the Kyla Artist Prize 2026. Selected by an international jury, the 17 winning artists represent five nationalities — Taiwan, Japan, Cuba, the United States, and the United Kingdom — embodying the intercultural dialogue at the heart of contemporary creation.

Materials Category — Adult

  • Honorable Mention: Kate Huang

  • First Prize: Lu Chia-Hua (Taiwan)

  • Second Prize: Chiang Wen-Ju (Taiwan)

  • Third Prize: Chang Wen-Min (Taiwan)

Painting Category — Adult

  • Honorable Mention: Naohito Watanabe (Japan), La Statue de la Liberté

  • First Prize: Pan Lu-Ying (Taiwan)

  • Second Prize: Reydel Espinosa Fernández (Cuba)

  • Third Prize: Chung Chao-Yi (Taiwan), Jo- / Jonathan Shih (United States), 2003 4-3

Special Mentions

Liu Szu-Fan (La Maison des Visages), Hsu Nai-Wen (Mai), Teng Ya-Hsin (Une Romance d'un Instant), Cheng Ya-Hsin (3983), Chen Mu-Chi (Mixed Media), Huang Hai-Ting (MG) — all originating from Taiwan.

Painting Category — Young Talents

  • First Prize: Isabelle Chapman (United Kingdom)

  • Second Prize: Wang Hsin-Chun (Taiwan)

This edition features 17 winning artists distributed as follows: Taiwan (12), Japan (1), Cuba (1), United States (1), United Kingdom (1), and Overseas Chinese (1). Spanning Asia, Europe, and the Americas, this list embodies the international reach of the Kyla Artist Prize as a global platform for contemporary art.

Next Steps

The winning artists will soon receive their official notification, shipping details for their French-engraved medal, links to the international jury's commentary videos, and their invitation to the awards ceremony. The jury's commentary videos will be progressively released on ALEA’s official channels and the Instagram account @kylaartistprize_alea.
